Rare 1920's Vintage Modele 26 Sopranino

This is a rare silver plated Modele 26 sopranino saxophone from the 1920's, serial number 4902. It is always fun and exciting to get in a early Selmer Paris instrument. This one is in great shape for its vintage and is also sporting the original silver finish.

Looking over the saxophone closely there is no history of past solder repairs but a previous owner did have an additional marching lyre mount added to the saxophone at some point in the past. All of the original key work as well as the rollers and factory marching lyre mount is intact. One point of mention is the bell flare was damaged and repaired at some point in the past.

This sax looks like it was re-padded a very long time ago. At this point the current set of pads are well past their prime and the horn is not current playing. If you are going to be doing a lot of serious playing on the instrument it is going to need to be completely overhauled first. Our restoration will include a dissemble and cleaning followed by a precise set up with all new pads, resonators, felts and corks.
