This is a 1970s vintage Selmer Paris hard rubber mouthpiece for the alto sax. This is a post-“Soloist” style mouthpiece, with the same scroll pattern on the shank and horseshoe shaped chamber, though has a bit less rollover at the baffle than the earlier Soloist pieces. This piece is in excellent original condition; the only wear to speak of is oxidation of the hard rubber and some discoloration around the beak. No major playing wear though, and the facing is in great shape. The piece is stamped a D and measures .075”. A nice, warm playing piece for players who like the classic Selmer sound but want something a bit more open than the standard C*.
