Five Digit Vintage Mark VI Alto - Original Silver Plate w/ High F#

This is a vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI alto in original silver plate, serial number 74440. In addition to being one of the best looking VI altos in the shop this saxophone also showcases a factory original high F# key.

The original finish on this sax shows 99% of the original finish with light play wear from past use. The previous owner took very good care of it over the years. There is just a few points of note, at some point the bow cap was bumped as there is a slight crease in the rear of the cap. But that being said the condition of the bow its self is excellent. If you look very closely you can also see where the bottom key guard foot of the low Eb key was re-soldered. The work was done professionally and is easy to miss if you are not looking closely. This saxophone does include the original neck. The neck is in outstanding condition with the original black inking around the S. It has never been pulled down.

In addition to simply being a beautiful instrument this alto is a natural top shelf pick for the serious pro. It takes the air in smooth and easy while keeping a full sound across all registers. The outstanding balance and response on this alto makes it extremely flexible. It was serviced last summer in our shop and is still playing fantastic. To ensure it is still in perfect playing condition we will look at it once more on the bench before shipping.

This is an incredible player, full rich sound with a good tonal center. Really takes your air well too. Definitely a top shelf Mark VI for a discerning pro player. Ships with vintage Selmer wood hard case.
