Nickel Silver – Pan Am Alto

This is a vintage Pan American alto saxophone in original nickel plate, serial number 40868. The Pan American has some similarities to some of the older Conn models. This one in particular has split bell keys, trill G and key work to palm F. ( does not have a front F key )

The pads on the horn are very old and are past the point of being re-set for use. Before the sax is ready for any playing it will need to be first overhauled. All of the original key work as well as the rollers are intact and with this saxophone. As is the original neck. The physical body of the sax is in decent condition. It does not show any serious past solder work but does have number of dings, particularly around the lower bow. The key work is intact and the keys are all moving, however the rollers are not moving. That being said some of the screws and adjustment rods do not move easily at this time if you take a screw driver to them. The saxophone is missing one side of the octave key guide.
