Mark Vi Tenor – High F#

This is a great player, Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor saxophone in original lacquer, serial number 178000. The tenor shows off original lacquer finish and also has key work to high F#. This particular Mark VI was recently overhauled in our shop and is now in perfect playing condition featuring all new Valentino pro pads and premium key materials. The tenors made in the earlier 70's have the tendency to be much more focused in direct comparison to the earlier models from the late 1950's. This would be a fantastic player for a professional looking for an instrument for use across a wide variety of music styles.

When we first received this tenor it had taken a pretty good hit in the upper body tube. In order to get it back to its true condition it was slowly and carefully reworked. This work included re-solders to some of the upper key posts as well as repair to some of the tone holes. The body tube was also removed from the bow during this process. (See pictures )

The rest of the body is in very nice physical codntiion condition. Its bow, bow cap and bell are all in great shape with excellent lacquer coverage. This sax is also with the original Mark VI neck. The neck shows no history of ever having been pulled down. The tenor is with all of the original key work, guards and pearls. Its key pearls all still feel crisp under the fingers.

This tenor was recently overhauled by Josh Creekmore of Saxquest. The work included very meticulous key fitting and regulation of the key work before it was outfitted with a new set of Valentino pro pads, brown nylon resonators as well as all new felts and corks.
