This is a vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI alto in original lacquer finish, serial number 164873. If you are looking for a smokin VI alto the models from the late 1960's are a fantastic choice for their versatility as well as their price point. This one in particular sports a tremendous sound and despite the well seasoned appearance is in fantastic physical condition. It plays with a richly balanced quality from top to bottom while featuring a warm color and exceptional projection.

The body tube, bow and bell of the sax are in great physical condition. All of the tone holes, original key work and pearls are present and in good shape. The bow and bow cap are both in nice original condition with no history of major past repair. Its bell flare is also in nice shape and has never been damaged or repaired. The original neck is also with this sax, it has never been pulled down. Looking over the sax very carefully it does have a re-solder on the bottom foot of the low Eb key guard. The alternate F# key guard has also been repaired in the past.

This alto was fully overhauled in the Saxquest shop in late 2023. It is currently in perfect playing condition with a fresh set of Valentino premium pro leather pads, metal domed resonators, new corks and felts. In order to ensure it goes out in perfect playing condition we will also check it out on the bench once more before shipping.
