This is an old Holton 233 alto saxophone in gold lacquer finish, serial number 200971. If you are looking to pick something up cheap to play around with at home or are working on learning repair this saxophone can be purchased at a good price.

The pictures tell the store of this saxophone the best. It has had a pretty long life of use. Aside from not being super pretty there is not history of major repair around the body. It looks like someone more recently did an ok job of putting new pads in it but did not do anything else regarding key fitting and key materials. As it sits it will play down to a low Bb. Ultimately if you were wanting to use this sax for serious performance use it will not be in perfect playing condition until it is professionally overhauled. At this time we are selling it in as is condition at a low price.

This is an ideal item if you are looking for a project piece at home or if you are just looking for something cheap to play around with. We do not recommend this instrument for a student saxophone player.
