As-Is Early American Vintage Beauty
This is a Buescher True-Tone low-pitch tenor sax in silver plate, serial number #128706. This saxophone is playing through some leaks on very old pads. We are offering it in as is condition.

The Buescher True-Tone model saxophone was produced from the early 1910s until the early 1930s, this one was manufactured in 1928 approximately. Equipped with full chromatic key-work from low Bb up to palm F, trill G# and D# options for the lower stack, and standard side Bb, C and high E keys. The split bell keys give this horn a true early American vintage look.

Physically this horn is in good shape, not much dent work has been done to this one. It appears at some point it was given a clear-coat lacquer to protect the silver from tarnish, this finish has worn off in various places across the horn exposing the original matte silver to begin tarnishing. There is no evidence of past resolders, and the blued-steel needle-springs look fantastic.

Sonically the True-Tone plays with a wide sweet tone and is very free blowing, intonation is solid on this horn although the upper stack and palm keys can be sharp. If you're a player who appreciates the early swing of the 1920s you'd be pleased with how this horn plays, scoops and wide vibratos come easily, you'll be crooning in the club in no time.

We are offering this horn in as-is condition. It does play at this time but it ultimatley needs to be overhauled before it could be considered in perfect playing condition. Due to the repair line in our shop we are offering this one in as is condition at a lower price.

This horn ships in as-is condition in a red leather, hard-wood box case with a plush red interior.
