This is a quality vintage hard rubber Selmer Soloist series mouthpiece for the tenor sax. This is one of the earlier “short shank” models, dating back to the 1950’s. All of the wear on this mouthpiece is purely cosmetic, just superficial surface wear from 70+ years of light use. As a true hard rubber mouthpiece, it has oxidized with time to a lighter brown color, but as far as physical wear goes, there is only very light surface scratching here and there. No cracks, chips, or grooves. The tip and rails are original and in superb shape. This piece is table stamped a C** and measures .073”.
