Original lacquer Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor saxophone with American style engraving, serial number 195621. This tenor is a fantastic option for players looking for a Mark VI that hasn't been beat to death – one that, while shows lacquer wear, it is straight physically, and will come to you with all new pads, ready to go for a long time to come.

This tenor spent quite a bit of its life near the ocean, so the original lacquer is quite literally flaking off from that environment. However, the wear is just cosmetic, and there are no dents or major past repairs anywhere on this tenor. In fact, I see just 1 resoldered joint, on one foot of the low Eb keyguard. No other previous repairs. The original neck has been replaced at some point with a high density solid copper Gloger neck which, I must admit, really makes this tenor sing. The added resonance can be heard and felt through the entirety of the horn's range.

This tenor was last fully repadded quite awhile ago, so in order to do it up right, we're going to complete a fresh overhaul. Our work will include all new pads and material, while reusing the existing resonators, which are a custom machine oversized brass flat metal screwback. We'll remove the little risers you see in the photos, bring the horn back to as close to factory spec as possible. The horn will get a deep cleaning, and we'll take the utmost care to preserve the remaining lacquer as well as possible.

Once our work is complete, this sax will be playing up a storm. All of our work is included in the price, so you can walk out the door with a sub-$6k Mark VI tenor that will be playing perfectly, and you won't have to worry about running to the shop for repairs anytime soon. Ships in a hardshell SKB case.
