Vintage Sherwood Master alto saxophone in original lacquer, serial number 62831. This is an old Conn stencil, and has several similarities to a Conn Chu series alto, though does have same side (left) bell keys instead of split bell keys. Currently sitting on old pads, we are selling this one as-is at a low price for collectors and vintage sax afficianados.
The body on this alto is very clean. The original lacquer is 95% intact with only minor wear. There are two shallow chair dings in the upper half of the bottom bow, and no other previous damages or repairs. Unlike the body, the neck has been relacquered, but it doesn't show any signs of past damage.
This alto is not playing currently on old pads, and would need to be repadded by your local shop if you plan on using it. At its current price, you've got plenty of room to get that work done and still be ahead in the game. Ships in vintage hard case.
