This is an early 70s vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI alto sax in original lacquer, serial number 197599. This alto features all new pads and will ship with a fresh pro set up from our repair shop. It is a great option for players looking for an original, American engraved Mark VI at a lower price.

This Mark VI shows light wear-and-tear from normal use, but doesn't appear to have ever been abused. The lacquer wear is nominal for its age, and the only previous repair I can spot is a resoldered low Eb keyguard. No major dent work, and just a couple tiny dings in the bottom bow which we will remove during our adjustment. A previous owner did add a pickup to the neck (see photos).

This alto came to us on a recent overhaul, with all new pads fitted with brown nylon resonators. To make sure it is absolutely perfect when it gets to its next owner, it did a final adjustment in our shop to ensure it is up to our standards. We replaced some material and made sure pads are sealing perfectly.

If you want a solid all-around vintage Selmer that you can take to any gig, you will definitely be pleased with this Mark VI. Warm but not overly dark, edgy but not piercing or obnoxious, this alto will do it all for you. Very nice response too, and it takes all of your air efficiently.
