HELP, I Want One!

Ships with FULL Pro Overhaul

This is a very nice late 70s vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI bari sax with keywork to low A, serial number 276560. This is a one-owner horn with good original lacquer coverage. It will ship out with a fresh overhaul on it, so you can rest assured that it will be playing up a storm for a long time to come.

As you can see in the photos, this sax is in excellent overall shape. The “front” of the sax shows minimal lacquer wear and looks fantastic. There is a bit more wear of the back side of the bell and body tube, but the horn has obviously never been banged around. There's a smattering of tiny dings here and there (will be removed during our work), but the only previous repair is on the low Eb keyguard, which has been resoldered. No trauma of any kind anywhere on the horn. The original neck has a very slight pulldown (which we'll also correct), and we'll clean up all the accumulated grime on it and the sax body.

This bari came to us on mostly factory original pads, which are 45 years old at this point. To make it perfect, the sax will go through our shop for a pro overhaul. We'll completely take the horn apart, clean/sterilize it inside and out, remove all dings/dimples, and replace all pads and material, using firm leather pads and original style brown nylon resonators. We'll make sure all posts and keywork are properly aligned and the sax will feel much like the day it left the factory. It's a total rebuild, so you can have confidence that it will be in perfect playing shape when you receive it.

These later vintage Mark VI bari's play much better in tune than the earlier versions. This horn plays with a huge, beefy sound and strong bottom end. It has a strong focus and definite warmer sound, allowing it to play well in any setting from jazz to classical to pit gigs, and everything in between. Great all-around horn, with plenty to offer its next owner. Ships in its original hardshell wood case with Selmer badge on it.
