This is a very nice, vintage Selmer Paris Series 9 clarinet in Bb, serial number T2239. The number dates this instrument to 1963, but the instrument remains in fine condition despite its age. Due to be overhauled in our shop, the instrument will ship with all new pads and in perfect adjustment.

This grenadilla wood clarinet has been well cared for over its life and professionally maintained. There is just one crack near the top of the bottom joint, which we'll address properly and seal it up right. There are no other previous cracks or repairs. The keywork remains in excellent shape with little finish wear to speak of. The instrument comes with its original bell, and both a Selmer Paris 67mm barrel and an unbranded 61mm barrel.

This clarinet has had pads replaced as needed over the years, but to make it perfect, we're going to do perform a full, fresh overhaul, including cleaning, regulation, and all new pads and material. We'll also remove the "homemade" neckstrap ring seen in the photos. The job will be performed by our top clarinet tech, Audrey Denny, and is included in the price.

These make great jazz instruments, with a bigger bore than you find on most modern clarinets. Especially nice for doublers, as they are very free blowing and responsive, while retaining a warmer sound.
