Absolutely stunning original Selmer Paris Super Action 80 Series II tenor sax, serial number 528337. This tenor is as pretty as a used horn can be, and available for an incredible price for the shape it is in.

This horn was lovingly well cared for over its life. The original lacquer is 99% intact with no real lacquer wear to speak of, just light surface scratching and whatnot. The sax shows a handful of very shallow chair pints around the bottom of the sax, but you've got to look close to spot them. No serious past damage and no past repairs of any kind. The original neck is flawless.

This tenor came in on original pads which, because the horn has never been played hard, still look new for the most part. To make sure the horn is in perfect playing shape for its next owner, we will be performing a full pro set up, which will include replacing any pads that are showing wear as well as all key adjustment corks and felts. We'll set the action and spring tension back to factory specs, and it will feel like a new horn again when you receive it.

This tenor plays just as you'd want and hope from a top tier Series II. Very warm, darker tone, with a strong core/focus and excellent intonation across the range of the instrument. Long considered the go-to horn for advancing students and classical players, I see a lot of serious jazz players on them too, especially if you are wanting that darker, traditional jazz sound.
