Selmer Soloist - Measures .086
This is nice Selmer Soloist “Short Shank” piece for tenor saxophone. It was stamped a C on the table but was more recently professionally refaced. It now measures .086”. This is in the zone of a Selmer E or an Otto Link 5*. The piece is by no means like new but it is in fabulous physical condition and does not have any major areas of wear. There are a few light scratch areas along the beak but no major indentations from the previous owner. The facing profile of the table, tip and side rails is extremely clean.
This particular piece has a very fast response to air flow and was a bit on the brighter side for a soloist. These pieces are often used by straight ahead jazz players in small group situations.
