Buffet Super Dynaction Tenor – 1978

This is a nice original lacquer Buffet Super Dynaction tenor saxophone, serial number 19754. Super Dynaction tenors are known for their dark and deeply focused sonic character. This one is a particularly smooth player with a quick and easy response to air flow. The key action on these saxophones is smooth and fluid but it should be noted that the spread of the keys and general feel is bigger in comparison to most modern instruments. Great for players with bigger hands but not recommended for players with smaller fingers.

The body of the tenor is in excellent physical condition with all original key work, guards and pearls. Its original lacquer shows off a mostly clean look with some typical play wear through out the body. Looking over it closely there is a few smaller dings around the body but there is no signs of major past repair. No past re-solders. It is with the original neck. The neck was slightly pulled down at some point in the past. Its bell flare was also very slightly pulled down in the past. This will be corrected while saxophone is in our shop.

This tenor came into our shop on a good set of slightly older leather pads and metal resonators. The tenor is currently due for some clean up and general service work. As such it is currently in line in our shop for a professional set up. The set up will include a complete dissemble and cleaning followed by a fine regulation of he key work as well as replacement of any necessary pads and key materials. While the saxophone is apart we will also remove the dings.

The Super Dynaction plays with a tremendously rich and warm color. A fantastic vintage tenor for a great price. Ships in perfect playing condition with the original wood hard case.
