Mark VI Alto – 1958
This is a very pretty vintage Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone from 1958, serial number 75790. The alto plays with a ultra crisp response to air flow while displaying a beautiful sound. A great horn if you have been on a hunt for a good five digit and want to pick one up at a lower price point. It should also be noted this a five digit alto with a medium bow.

At some point in the past a previous owner had the alto re-fished. The current finish does not show very much play wear. Because the finish is not original it is impossible to know the exact history of repair. As it sits now the body tube, bow, bow cap, bell and bell flare are all in excellent condition. Its key pearls look like they have seen quite a bit of use and have a smoother more broken in feel to them. The sax includes the original neck with matching serial number stamp.

This sax came into our store on a slightly older pad job from another shop. The standard grade leather pads and brown nylon resonators are in good shape and do not look like they have seen much play time. The tech chose to use very low key heights. At this time the horn is playing with a powerful free blowing sound through some leaks.  If you are going to be putting in a lot of serious play time on the horn it will need to be professionally set up before it can be considered in perfect playing condition.

With our shop being very backed up at this time we are selling this saxophone in as is condition with out adding any of our own work.

However, if you have the time and would like us to do the work, please make the selection with the drop down menu when adding the instrument to your shopping cart. A Saxquest set up would include opening up the key heights and precise regulation of the entire instrument. While the horn is apart all necessary materials would also be replaced. Please keep in mind the current turn around time for set-ups is 5-6 weeks at this time.

Ships with a nice non original wood hard case.
