This is an old first series CG Conn New Wonder model alto saxophone, serial number 84861. This alto dates way back to 1922, over 100 years old now. It's a cool talking piece, a way to pick up a horn for the collection without spending much.

The body on this old Conn is in very good shape, with dents or signs of major past repair. It was relacquered a very long time ago (would have originally been either bare brass, nickel, or silver from the factory) and the “newer” lacquer is fairly worn in spots. The engraving on the bell is faint but still discernible. The original neck has never been pulled down or damaged. This alto does have a few features that would later make Conn really stand out, such as its microtuner neck (which spins freely) and rolled tone holes, which are still in decent shape overall.

It has been decades since this horn was last repadded, and it is not in playing shape. If you wanted to play it, it would need a full overhaul with new pads and material. We are selling it as-is. It does ship in its original hardshell case.
