Original Silver Plate – Conn Sopranino

This is a fabulous C.G. Conn New Wonder II “Chu Berry” era Eb Sopranino in original silver plate, serial #161784. These sopraninos were keyed up to high Eb and like other New Wonder II models they have rolled tone holes and finger nail file G# key touch. The saxophone came into our store on a previous mechanical restoration from another shop. The pads are a little bit on the older side but do not look like they have seen much use so far.

This sopranino is in great condition and is with all of the original key work, pearls and rollers. It looks like it has seen a decent amount of play time in the past but shows no history of ever receiving major repair. The tone holes are in great shape and have never been filed on or abused. Looking over the instrument carefully it does not show signs of any major past repair, no re-solders. There are a couple of small dings below the neck cork.

This sorpanino was mechanically restored some time ago before being put into a collection. Since then it has not received a lot of play time. The pads are starting to get pretty hard and the instrument is not the easiest to play at this time. If you are planning on getting this item for professional use it is ultimately going to need to be overhauled before it can be considered in perfect playing condition. Because of its vintage and the unique nature of the instrument it is highly desired collectors horn.

This saxophone ships out in as is condition with a non original wood hard case.
