Here we have a very nice Contra Alto Clarinet by Selmer USA, serial #8356. These are high quality instruments and are a ultra viable option for getting into a contra for a good price. The body is made from a synthetic with nickel plated key work, neck and bell. Also featuring standard plateau key work to low Eb with a double octave key mechanism for better response across the chalameau register.

The body, key work and bell are all in good condition showing some standard play wear. But there is no signs the instrument has ever seen serious repair in the past. The contra plays with a huge sound and a warm sonic color. Its low notes project with ease while the high notes are also rich in harmonic texture. This would be a great instrument for anyone wanting to get into a quality contra for less then 10,000.

This instrument came in with mostly original materials and all of the original pads. At this time it is still playing through the leaks. Ultimately because of the age of the pads and materials this instrument will need to be overhauled before it is ready for any serious playing. In order to keep the price at a premium we are currently selling it in as is condition.

Instrument ships out with original wood hard case and a mouthpiece.
