This is a 1923 vintage CG Conn New Wonder series alto sax, serial number 114631. This alto is in dire need of a fresh overhaul, but as they say with houses, it has good bones. We are currently offering the horn as-is, but would love to properly restore it if you'd like to select that option during purchase.

The sax is dirty and tarnished from decades of sitting, but there is nothing physically wrong with it at all. Very little finish wear to the original silver plate (it is over 95% intact under that tarnish), and the sax shows no major dents and no resolders or previous repairs. All keys move freely with nothing frozen or sluggish, and the original neck has never been pulled down. The microtuner mechanism on the neck moves too. Because the sax has never really been fully overhauled, the rolled tone holes have never been filed on and everything is tip-top from top to bottom.

We are selling this sax as-is at a price low enough to give you room to restore it by your local tech, or we're happy to do the work if you'd like. Our overhaul would include full disassembly and cleaning/polishing, all new pads/corks/felts, and proper regulation of the action. We'd shine the horn up like new and have it playing better than the day it left the factory in 1923.
