HELP, I Want One!

Rare Collectors Piece – Hohner President
This is a vintage Hohner President alto saxophone, serial number 10153. These are highly interesting instruments. The “President” was made for Honer by Max Keilwerth, brother of Julius Keilwerth. These saxophones were in production from 1949 to 1972. This one was manufactured around 1961.

If you are a collector and are looking for a clean version of the Hohner President horn it is not going to get much nicer. This particular Hohner features an auxiliary trill C/D key, front F key open faced bell key guards and a fourth palm key for high F#. The alto was manufactured with rolled tone holes. Looking over the saxophone carefully there does not seem to be any trace of major past repair. The original neck is also with the sax and is in great condition.

A previous owner of the alto had it mechanically overhauled and cleaned up in the last few years. It is currently playing decently down to low Bb. Because of the rare and unique nature of this instrument it is most ideal as a collectors piece and not as an instrument for professional use. This saxophone ships in as is condition in a non original case.
