Early Vintage - Dark and Warm Tone
This is a Martin Handcraft from about 1923 in a raw brass finish (original finish has been removed), serial number #39275. The Handcraft is one of the first models Martin brought to the US market in the early 1920s, the key work includes low Bb up to palm F, alternate G# trill and back-door Eb keys included in the lower stack. One thing to note is that there is not a front F mechanism included with this horn. The original neck is not exhibiting signs of any pull down, but the bow, bell, and body are exhibiting signs of dent repair in the past. There are a few resolders on key-guard feet.

This horn plays with a couple of leaks on the pads it came in on, and could use minor set up work to improve the playability and key regulation. The pads are featuring brown plastic resonators.

Sonically, this horn plays with a dark sonic character with a bit of warmth that can fill the room. Players looking for a warm and dark American made horn at a great price would be interested in this offer

This saxophone ships out playing in as-is condition in a non original case.
