Fully Restores – Armstrong 3000 Alto Sax
This is a very sweet vintage Armstrong 3000 alto saxophone made by Keilwerth, Serial #2013. These saxophones were manufactured by Keilwerth in Germany. They are also very similar to the later models made by Couf. The Armstrong 3000 is a nice and powerful playing alto saxophone. It takes the air in easy and can be pushed very hard when desired. This is a great alto for anyone in need of a sturdy alto with a big sound and ample projection. The key work is also notably smooth under the fingers.

This one in particular is in nice shape and was recently restored in our shop by Josh Creekmore. The restoration included a dissemble and cleaning followed by precise key fitting and replacement of all pads and materials. It is now showcasing a new set of treated Valentino pads, cone resonators, stainless springs and all new corks and felts. It is now in perfect playing condition.

The body of the saxophone is in very nice condition. It shows signs of play time but does not look like it has history of major past repair or abuse. The body tube, bow, bow cap, bell are all in great shape. Its original neck is intact and in good shape. The octave pip has been repaired in the past. This is the only re-solder on this saxophone. At some point this horn was probably part of an institution or store fleet. You can still see the inventory number engraved on the side of the bell. (see photo 20 )

Alto ships out with a fresh pro overhaul and wood hard case.
