This revolutionary composer wrote many works based on Japanese Shakuhachi for the saxophone. One of his soprano pieces in particular had a large influence from Jean Marie Londeix, combining the traditional Shakuhachi notation with saxophone-specific extended technique. Even though this work is relatively popular within a standard classical repertoire list, the title is more known as a month of the year in the French language.
