In 1971 The Rolling Stones released a highly successful studio album that would eventually reach the number one spot in the United States. The first track on the album features a raw and raunchy tenor saxophone solo. This saxophonist was a frequent addition to the Stones and played with a plethora of other famous rock groups in his day, including Eric Clapton and Joe Cocker.

This saxophone player passed away this year at the age of 70.
