Custom Z Tenor – No High F#

Here is a very sweet playing Yamaha 82Z “Custom Z” tenor saxophone, serial number 240298. The sax is an earlier Series I version of the Custom Z which was special ordered with no high F#. This tenor has seen a decent amount of play time in the past but is in great physical condition. There is no history of past repair to the body. It has seen zero solder repairs. This saxophone is with a Yamaha G1 neck in raw brass which was selected for this horn by the previous owner.

This tenor plays with a gorgeous medium warm color and a smooth free blowing response. It features a highly consistent sonic balance across all registers allowing for a maximum amount of control. This is an ideal instrument for the modern professional who needs a horn for a wide variety of musical settings.

The previous owner of this horn used it extensively in professional settings. It was mostly re-padded a few years ago in another shop but it has seen some play time since and is due for a good set-up. As such the sax is currently awaiting a professional set-up in our shop. The set-up service will include a dissemble, cleaning and precise regulation of the key work. While the sax is apart we will also change out any needed felt and cork materials.
