HELP, I Want One!

Here's a fantastic find for serious collectors out there: an original silver plated Selmer Paris Mark VI alto sax with keywork from low A to high F#, serial number 184646. The low A Mark VI, a rare-enough horn as it is, is almost always found relacquered, but this one is a true original silver plate, and is going to be freshly restored in the Saxquest repair shop before shipping.

The original silver on this alto is 90-95% intact. There's an abnormal amount of finish wear on the ring finger D key, as seen in the photos, but only light wear otherwise, even on the touch points. The sax features Euro style engraving on the bell. The sax has a smattering of very small pings, but no serious past dents or trauma. Only the alt F# guard has been resoldered, and we'll clean that up a bit better during our repad. The original neck also has one tiny ding which we'll also remove. It has never been pulled down, and amazingly still has all of factory blue paint around the “S” of the octave key.

The low A Mark VI is a bit of a legend, and we've rarely seen one as nice as this one. I don't know if we've ever seen a silver plated one before, and the fact that it has high F# too is an added bonus. It's a beautiful instrument, and will look even better after our work. We'll take the horn apart, clean it, polish off the tarnish, and replace all pads and material, using original style brown nylon resonators. We'll take out those dings, clean up that past resolder work, and put the sax back in perfect adjustment. This is a fantastic instrument for collectors looking to add a truly unique horn to the collection. Ships in its original Euro style case, with the room needed to fit the low A.
