HELP, I Want One!

Keilwerth EX 90 SII
This is an ideal choice for the player looking for a work horse instrument. Keilwerth EX90 II tenor saxophone, made in Germany, serial number 104151. This one was manufactured in the mid to late 1990's. It was previously owned by a local St Louis pro and has been extensively played on in a wide variety of musical settings. The sax is not the prettiest around but it has a huge sound and an awesome amount of power. If you are looking for a great gigging tenor on a budget you can not go wrong with an EX 90.
The pictures really tell the story of this saxophone the best. It does show plenty of cosmetic character along the body but is in solid physical condition overall. There has been some smaller dings taken out of the horn in the past but it has never seen major body damage. Its bow and bell flare are also both in good shape, the bow cap is perfect and has never been pushed in or damaged. The horn is down to the raw brass around much of the major touch points on the horn. At some point the previous owner of the saxophone did remove all of the key pearls. The previous owner of the sax did at some point remove all of the key pearls.  Leaving just raw brass key touches. While it does not look as flashy as a full set of pearls it does still feel very comfortable under the fingers. The reach to the front F key is especially positive. Some modern horns like the P. Maurait Influence model are intentionally made with raw key touches in order enhance the natural resonance of the instrument. This Keilwerth is indeed a very free blowing instrument.
This saxophone was more recently serviced and professionally set-up by Ben Reece in the Saxquest shop. It is playing nicely on a mix of new and older pads. All of the cork and felt work on it is brand new. The key work is perfectly regulated and feels nice and positive under the fingers. Ben will also go through the horn once more when it sells to ensure it arrives laying perfectly.
This saxophone also includes the original neck and the original hard plastic box case. If you have any questions about this saxophone please hit the ask a question button or send questions directly to zac@saxquest.com
