This is a vintage Vito “Duke” tenor saxophone in gold lacquer, serial #19047. These Vito Duke models were made in Europe by Leblanc/Beaugnier. This one in particular is most likely from the 1960's. It is highly reminiscent of a vintage SML and Buffet model saxophone. The tenor plays with a dark and deep resonating core sound and is very responsive. Its sonic character is also rather focused which makes sonic control of the instrument quite nice.
The horn has seen a number of performances in its day but it is in excellent physical condition. The body tube, bow, bow cap and bell are all in great shape. All of the key guards are present and in good condition as well. The original neck is with the tenor and is very good condition. The pads on the sax are in good condition as are all of the brown plastic resonators. The tenor is currently in very good playing condition and it looks like the previous owner kept it in good shape. In order to keep the cost of the tenor at a premium we did not do our pro set-up on it. As it sits this is a great playing tenor and is perfect for anyone looking for a strong player with out paying the big bucks.
This tenor has a great sound and a bunch of character. Do not miss out on this French Vito “Duke” tenor sax in gold lacquer.
