HELP, I Want One!

Overhauled by Saxquest
This is a very sweet free blowing “The Martin” tenor saxophone in silver plate, serial number 176774. These vintage Martins are extremely versatile players and are a go to choice for any seasoned pro on a budget. This one has had an active history of playing in the past but is in great shape and ready for a new home. It was just freshly overhauled in the Saxquest shop and is now in perfect playing condition. The overhaul included a disassemble, cleaning, key fitting and a set-up with all new Valentino pads, metal resonators, corks and felts.

If saxophones could talk this horn would most likely have an interesting story. It shows the U.S. Stamp below the decorative engraving on the bell, this typically means it was property of the US government. By the time the saxophone made its way to Saxquest it was with a non original silver Martin neck from a slightly later vintage (serial number stamp 193325). The body of this tenor is in solid physical condition from top to bottom. It shows a clean body tube, bow and bell. Like most of the best playing vintage horns there is some history of mild dent and solder repair. At some point 3 of the posts were professionally re-soldered. All of the original key work is present and in great shape including the original sliding thumb rest and rollers. The original bow cap has been just slightly pushed in but the bow itself is in excellent physical condition.

This is an extremely fun and very powerful horn to play. It takes the air in quick and has zero negative resistance in its response. These horns are ideal for any on the go pro player who needs something they can take to any gig from straight ahead swing to a power pop show. This tenor ships out in perfect playing condition.
