Dark Character with a BIG SOUND
Here is an SML Rev. D in silver plate with chrome-silver plating on the keys, serial number #12051. This saxophone came in on a decent set of pads and is playing with a few leaks. The plating is holding up nicely on the body, and the keys have a bit of pitting forming.

These SML altos come with beautiful real mother-of-pearl key touches for added grip, and are keyed from low Bb up to palm F, including a front F mechanism. The table features a lever on the G# key that can be set to articulate the G# with the rest of the table, helpful for fast lines.

Sonically, this saxophone plays with a dark quality while projecting with ease. The lower register is big and powerful, and the upper register has a lovely singing quality.

Physically the body is in impeccable shape with no signs of past dent work but a few resolders on key-guard feet, the neck ring, and the left hand thumb rest. At some point  the body was replated in silver. The neck is showing some minor pulldown as well. This sax is playing decently but does have a number of leaks. At this time we are selling this saxophone in as is condition.

A dark sonic character comes from the core of this horn along with power, so any player striving for these qualities in a french-made vintage alto would take interest in this offer. This horn ships in a stylish blue-dyed alligator leather case with hard wood interior.
