HELP, I Want One!

Vintage Selmer SBA Tenor Sax 1949
This is a very sweet 1950's vintage Selmer Paris Super Balanced Action tenor sax, serial number 41097. The tenor plays with a deep and warm full resonating sound. In regards to sonic color this sax is definitely on the darker side of the color spectrum. It also has an exceptionally balanced character from top to bottom allowing for an amazing amount of control. Its key action feels nice and compact under the fingers allowing for quick response and a positive feel. With a killer sound and a great feel this tenor is an absolute blast to play.
This is a real players SBA.  If you are do not mind a horn with some per-existing cosmetic character and are just looking for a killing player you will quickly fall in love with this tenor. It was re-lacquered in the past. The refinishing was done exceptionally well on this instrument. Its current finish has a great warm tinted hue which is beautifully complemented by the crisp floral engraving. The body tube, bow, bell, bell are all in great condition. The bow cap is in great shape and has never been pushed in. There is some history of past dent and solder work on this tenor. The work was all done professionally and was done extremely well. It does include the original neck. The neck was pulled down in the past but has been brought back up to its true position.
This tenor was professionally overhauled in the Saxquest shop in 2015 and was played on by an active pro in the Midwest. It is currently in the Saxquest shop awaiting a professionally servicing and clean-up. It ships out in perfect playing condition. The set-up on this saxophone features a nice set of leather Valentino pads and brown plastic resonators. These pads are in great shape and have a ton of life left in them. If you are looking to get into a very sweet SBA while keeping the price under 10,000 this tenor is a great way to do it.
