This is vintage Selmer Paris “Soloist” short shank mouthpiece for alto saxophone. The mouthpiece was most likely originally a smaller facing. It was later re-faced and opened to a more contemporary tip opening, now measuring .088”. While the profile is not the prettiest the piece plays very nicely and shows a well defined tip and rails. The outer body of the mouthpiece is in very good condition showing normal cosmetic character.
This is a very fun to play mouthpiece. It takes the air in pretty easy and feels much more open and free blowing compared to the Soloists with factory facings. If you have ever wanted a Soloist with some bite to it this one would be a great choice.
