HELP, I Want One!

Selmer Paris Mark VII 1978 – High F# Key
This is a vintage Selmer Mark VII tenor saxophone in original lacquer, serial number 280716. The Mark VII is an ideal instrument if you are looking at getting a pro tenor at an amazing price. This tenor has a great warm centered sound with crystal clear projection. The color of the sound is dark and very rich. As you would hope and expect from a Selmer the key action is also smooth and fluid under the fingers. It should be noted the table key size on the tenors is noticeably larger then the Mark VI models. But they are very similar in size to the Super Action 80 models. This saxophone is keyed up to high F#.

The previous owner of the tenor professionally played it and maintained it over the years. It is in very good physical condition showing off original lacquer finish with some standard play wear. There has been a few smaller dings on the horn over but it has never seen major dent work and shows no re-solder. The original neck is also with the saxophone and is in very good condition. This tenor came into our shop on a very old set of pads. As such it is currently in line to be overhauled in the Saxquest shop.  The Saxquest pro overhaul will include all new premium leather Valentino pads, brown plastic resonators, corks and felts. It will also include a complete cleaning, precise key fitting and the removal of the small dings around the lower body area. When complete we will post some fresh pictures of the sax.
