Selmer Mark VII Alto

This is a very sweet original lacquer Selmer Paris Mark VII alto sax, serial number 294972. The alto is in fantastic condition. It received a mechanical restoration in the Saxquest shop in late 2022 and is still in perfect playing condition. The original lacquer on the alto currently stands 85-90% condition. There is some standard cosmetic wear around major touch points of the horn as well as some light scratching here and there. But nothing too terribly serious. There has never been any major repairs to the body of this sax and it has never received any re-solders. The original neck is also with the instrument. It shows similar cosmetic character to the body but has never been pulled down.

This saxophone originally had a plain bell and was not engraved. However the last owner of this saxophone really liked the look of engraving and had it sent to a professional engraver. It now shows the classic American style floral pattern in the bell area. The work is absolutely superb and looks quite crisp across the bell area.

The alto plays with a warm balanced sound while allowing for excellent control. We were extremely pleased with how this alto turned out after we did the overhaul and consider it to be one of the better playing Mark VII's we have had in the shop in some time. The professional overhaul it received showcases a brand new set of Valentino pro pads, metal domed resonators as well as all new corks and felts. All of the pads and materials are all still in brand new condition. We will look over the horn once more before shipping to ensure it ships in perfect playing condition.
