Oustanding Pro Player! Mark VI Tenor
This is a great original lacquer Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor saxophone, serial number 142058. The saxophone came into our shop playing up an absolute storm on a recent professional re-pad from another shop. It is in perfect playing condition and is an ideal choice for the pro player.

The saxophone shows off its original lacquer finish as well as crisp American floral engraving. This Mark VI was originally outfitted with a factory Selmer Varitone pick-up unit. A previous tech removed this unit and did an outstanding job. You can see loss of original lacquer along the back of the body tube as well as a spot on the outer bow brace and area below the neck socket. These are the areas that held the pickup and cable. Aside from the removal of the pick-up the tenor does not show any  serious past damage or major repair. The bell, bell flare and lower bow area are in great shape as well as the bell to body brace. Some smaller dings have been taken out of the bow area in the past but the bow cap is in excellent condition and was never pushed in. All of the key guards are in solid condition and have never seen any solder repair. This saxophone comes with a non original Mark VI neck of the same vintage. The neck does feature the proper lower saddle for the octave key. This neck, like the body of the sax shows some normal play wear but has never seen serious damage.

The Mark VI was overhauled in early 2021 in another pro shop. It is now in perfect playing condition and is outfitted with a premium set of treated leather pads and flat metal Resotech Custom Resonators. One particular thing to take note of is a previous tech did customize the ball and sockets on the side C and Bb keys. This was most likely done to improve efficiency and eliminate the loss of motion that can plague the side keys.

This saxophone is a smooth free blowing player featuring a rich medium warm color. It has a much more centered core sound in comparison to the earlier Mark VI models. The balanced center allows for a superb amount of control and flexibility. It is an ideal horn for the modern professional who needs something to use in a wide variety of settings. This saxophone ships with a used contoured gig case.
