Mark VII Alto Sax – Original Silver Plate 1978
This is a beautiful original silver plate Selmer Paris Mark VII alto saxophone, serial number 279746. The alto is in beautiful condition and is a stunning player as well. This instrument was last overhauled by Saxquest in 2014 and will receive a fresh service from our shop before shipping out.

The body of the alto is physically in outstanding shape with no past re-solders. All of the original key work and key guards are intact and are in very nice condition. There body tube, bow and bow cap are all in very nice condition. It does look like some smaller dings were taken out of the bow in the past but it looks nice and clean as it sits. The bow cap is in perfect condition. The bell flare of this saxophone has previously had some repair in the past. ( picture 16 )

This saxophone does include the original Mark VII neck. The neck is in great condition and has never been pulled down.

This particular Mark VII features a dark color and rich sound full of warmth and color. The sound is notably robust in comparison to the modern Selmer SIII but is much tighter and more controlled if you comparing it to the older Selmers from the 1950's. If you are looking for a pro alto with a rich dark timbre this VII is going to be a hard horn to put down. The last owner of this sax had it overhauled in our shop in 2014. This work included a fresh regulation and set up with precise key fitting and a brand new set of Valentino premium pads, brown nyon resonators and new corks and felts. Saxquest will also check the sax over once more before shipping to ensure it goes out in perfect playing condition.

This is an exceptional playing Mark VII alto, please send us a product question if you have any questions or a message directly to zac@saxquest.com.
