HELP, I Want One!

Vintage Balanced Action – 1937
This is a vintage Selmer Paris Balanced Action tenor saxophone, serial number 23063. These early Balanced Actions are known for being ultra free blowing and being very colorful. This one in particular is no exception. It can take in a ton of air and has a rich spread response with a warm but still intense sound. Key work is smooth and fluid under the fingers allowing for a very quick physical response. The previous owner of this saxophone had it more recently re-padded with black roo pads and silver domed metal resonators. This tenor is currently in the Saxquest shop awaiting a professional set-up and will soon be in perfect playing condition.
The body of the tenor is in very good physical condition showing some standard play wear for a horn of its vintage. Its bow and bow cap both are in excellent condition and have never seen any major dent work. The body tube and bell are also both in very good condition. Its bell to body brace was re-soldered in the past. This is a very typical repair we see on most Balanced Actions. The saxophone was re-lacquered at some point in its life. It was done well and was most likely done a long time ago. Its current lacquer has a nice dark honey tint and shows off clean floral engraving around the bell area. This tenor does come with the original neck. The neck has been gold plated and is in good condition.
If you are looking for a classic player and a big sound you can not go wrong with these early BA tenors. This one ships out in perfect playing with a 1970's vintage Selmer hard case.
