HELP, I Want One!

Mark VI Tenor – 1961
This is a vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor saxophone, serial number 95388. It was manufactured in 1961.
This Mark VI takes the air in easy and has rich full response. Compared to the five digit Selmers from the mid-to-late 1950’s, this one in particular is slightly brighter and has a noticeably tighter focus at its core. This horn is more lush, with a more open, free-resonating sound than the modern Selmer’s. Projection and control on this tenor are exceptional.
The body of the saxophone does show a history of active play time but is in solid condition. Its body tube, bow and bell are in great shape. The bow cap is also in great shape. There is one small area towards the front of the bow that has ever so slightly been pushed in. The bow itself is in great shape and does not show signs of ever receiving major past repair. All of the key guards, posts and key work are original and in very good condition. At some point in the past, this saxophone was re-lacquered. Its current lacquer shows the proper dark cellulose air-bake lacquer with a honey tint. This saxophone does include the original neck with matching serial number stamp. The neck was previously pulled down but was later brought back up to its true position.
This saxophone is currently awaiting a overhaul in our shop. The Saxquest professional overhaul will include all new pads, corks, felts, resonators and a top notch key regulation.
Tenor ships in new Protec Max contoured case.
