HELP, I Want One!

Overhauled by Ben Reece
This is a super sweet player. Bundy by H&A Selmer made in Elkart Ind, serial number 72123. It was professionally overhauled by Ben Reece of Saxquest in 2018. Ben has played the horn regularly since then and kept it maintained as well. The overhaul included precise key fitting and adjustment and now has a set of Valentino premium leather pads, metal resonators and high grade cork and felts.

Physically the horn is in great shape. It does show the history of some past play time but has never received major body repair. There have been zero re-solders to this saxophone in the past. It does have a few smallish dings around the bow. These dings are cosmetic only and do not impact the way the horn plays. Ben chose to leave these smaller blemishes on the horn to save the lacquer in the area. If you would like we will take these out on request. The original neck on this saxophone is intact and in great physical condition.

This is one of the first series of Bundy tenors made by Buescher after the Selmer buy out. Both from a constructional and a playing stand point the Bundy is very similar to the Buescher Aristocrat. These models have a smooth free blowing response to air and can take in a ton of air if desired.  It is an ideal instrument for the professional who needs to get into a solid instrument for under $2,000. This particular saxophone was used by Ben Reece for his album “It Takes Time”.  A recording of this record can be heard on Spotify under Ben Reece Unity Quartet.

This tenor will be checked out in the Saxquest shop by Ben before shipping. It ships out in perfect playing condition with a contoured case.
