This is a Florida vintage Otto Link Double Line “Super Tone Master” for tenor saxophone, serial number P63. The mouthpiece was originally stamped a 5*. At some point a past owner also had a 6 stamped on the table. The exact history of this piece is unknown. But by the time we came across it the facing was pretty worn out and needed to be touched up. As such it was recently worked on by mouthpiece tech James Bunte. It now shows off a crisp facing profile regarding the table, side rails and tip.
The body of the mouthpiece e is in decent condition showing all raw brass at this time. It does The outer body of the piece is in raw brass at this point. Its original bite plate is still intact, if you look closely you can see a small indentation on the plate where it meets the brass on the front part of the beak.
This is a nice playing piece with smooth and quick response to air. It features an intense focused quality with a notable amount of brilliance all while keeping a full and rich character. The tip opening on this mouthpiece measures a 7 at .100”.
