Vintage Otto Link Early Babbitt Hard Rubber Tone Edge 7 .108 by J Jensen
This is a very nice playing Otto Link Tone Edge “Early Babbitt” vintage for tenor saxophone. It was stamped a 7 when it was made but was later worked on by mouthpiece refacer Jimmy Jensen. The piece shows off a very clean profile regarding the table, tip and side rails. Its outer body, beak and shank are also in excellent condition.
This mouthpiece plays with a rich response and a very crisp character. It has a noticeable edge to the way it plays compared to the earlier vintage “Slants” and also has a noticeable sizzle, most apparent when you push the piece harder.
The tip opening of this piece measures .108”.
