This is a vintage Selmer Paris Mark VII tenor saxophone in original lacquer, serial number 261094. The Mark VII is a classic work horn for the modern professional. A tenor like this is ideal for anyone in need of a great sax with out breaking into the ultra high price ranges. This particular tenor features a rich free blowing response with a notably warm sonic character. It will take in a ton of air and can be pushed very hard when needed. The sub-tone on the low end of this horn is absolutely gorgeous.
This Mark VII was played and maintained professionally by a local St. Louis Musician. It shows the history of plenty of play time and some history of normal repair. The body tube, bow and bell are all in great shape. All of the original key work and guards are intact and in good shape. Looking over the horn closely there are a couple of guard feet showing solder repairs. These past repairs are very clean and were done professionally.
The tenor came into our shop playing up a storm on a good set of leather pads and brown nylon resonators. It is due for some general service work and cleaning. As such it is currently in our shop awaiting some TLC on the bench. The tenor will soon be back in tip top playing condition.
This tenor ships out in perfect playing condition with protec countered case.
