Mark VI Tenor – 1971
This is a later vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor saxophone in original lacquer, serial number 191437.

The pictures tell the story of this horn the best. It has seen a lot of play time over the years and does have some history of repair. While it might not be the best looking horn in the shop it is still a very viable instrument for the professional looking to get a VI at a lower price point.

This tenor came into our shop having not been serviced in a very long time. In order to do it up right it is currently in line for a complete overhaul and body work. The work will include a dissemble, cleaning and body work. The tech will then do a very thorough regulation of the instrument with precise key fitting and replacement of all pads and materials. Once complete the horn will be clean and in perfect playing condition sporting a new set of Valentino leather pads, metal domed resonators as well as all new corks and felts. The work also include taking an old brass patch off of the neck and repairing it with a flush plug.

Looking over the horn carefully it features all of the original key work as well as the guards and orignal neck. The guards are all in good shape and do not show any signs of past solder repair. One additional point of mention is the low Eb tone hole has been repaired in the past.

Before going into the shop we did a play test on this horn. It is a rich and responsive player and we are very much looking forward to playing it more once the work is complete. After the horn has been finished in the shop we will update this listing with fresh pictures.

Ships out in perfect playing condition in a protec contoured case.
