HELP, I Want One!

Vintage Selmer Paris 1965
This is a vintage Selmer Paris Mark VI tenor saxophone in original lacquer finish, serial number 124513. If you are in the market for a work horse Mark VI this tenor is going to be a great match for you. It shows off an original lacquer finish with standard cosmetic character for a horn that has had an active performance carrier.
We have had a number of these earlier six digit serial numbered Mark VIs in the shop over the years. They are slightly more focused then the early five digit models from the late 1950's but are noticeably more free blowing then the later models from the 1970's. These are extremely flexible saxophones and function great in a wide variety of musical settings.
This one came into our store on a set of pads well past their prime. It is currently in line for a complete professional overhaul. in our shop. The professional overhaul will include a complete dissemble and cleaning of the instrument. Our tech will also take the opportunity to clean up a few dings along the bow and near the thumb rest of the sax which was previously pushed in. This saxophone includes a slightly later vintage Mark VI neck. The neck was previously pulled down but has been brought back up to its true position.
While it might not be the prettiest tenor on the wall this saxophone has it where it counts and is perfect for anyone looking to get into a Mark VI under the 10 thousand dollar plus price range.
