Mark VI Alto – Original Lacquer 1970
This is a Selmer Paris Mark VI alto saxophone in original lacquer, serial number 183254. If you looking for a great playing original lacquer VI and do not mind a little bit of cosmetic character this saxophone is going to be very appealing. The previous owner played it actively while keeping it professionally serviced. We will also go through the alto before it ships out and put a fresh Saxquest pro set-up on it.

The alto is in solid physical condition from top to bottom showing off its original lacquer finish and American floral engraving. It has seen some professional service in a pro shop in the past. As it sits now it is in great shape but it does show history of past body and solder work. The bow area has seen some dent work and the sax does have a small amount of re-solders to some of the key guard feet. This saxophone includes the original neck. At this point a lot of the lacquer is off the neck but it does not show any signs it has received any major past repair. The bell to body brace on this sax is in great shape. This sax features all of its original key work and guards as well as the original key pearls.

These later vintage Mark VI's are most ideal for the modern professional who needs a versatile instrument. This alto has a much more precise focused core sound in comparison to the Mark VI's from the late 50's and early 1960's. It takes the air in quick and responds with an easy to control clear sound full of color. The saxophone does lean a little towards the brighter side of things while always maintaining a full and rich quality. The balanced response and great control of this saxophone allows for outstanding sonic flexibility and control of pitch.

This saxophone ships out in perfect playing condition in a protec propac case.
