Super 20 Alto – Powerful Player
This is a tremendous player! Vintage King Super 20 alto saxophone in original lacquer, serial number 346967. Manufactured in 1956 the alto was made shortly after they moved to non pearl side keys. It still features the double socket sterling silver neck with under slung octave key and the ultra fluid Super 20 key work. 
This is a great playing alto and is very hard to put down. It takes the air in fast and with an exceptional amount of ease. This is the kind of instrument you can push hard all day long and it is never going to let you down. The playing characteristics of this saxophone does lean on the bright side of the color spectrum. It is very free blowing and quite powerful. These saxophone are ideal for use in contemporary situations and lead work. They have been an all around favorite of jazz alto players for many years and were a top choice of Cannonball and Charlie Parker. 
The body of the sax is in very nice condition showing some normal play wear. Its original lacquer is in great shape Its body tube, bow, bell and bow cap are all in great condition. All of the key posts and key guards are present and in good shape. There is just one re-solder on the bottom key guard foot. The bell flare is in very good condition while showing a small wear spot along the lower part of the flare. This saxophone includes the original sterling silver double socket neck. The neck is in excellent condition and does not show any history of pull downs or major repairs.  
This alto was professionally played and maintained by the last owner. Its pads are in great shape as well. The sax is currently awaiting a professional set-up in our shop. We will go through the sax a precisely regulate the key work as well as change out the needed cork and felts. The alto ships in perfect playing condition with original King hard case.
