HELP, I Want One!

Gorgeous - Free Blowing Powerful Player
Here we have a beautiful original gold plated C.G. Conn New Wonder II “Chu Berry” alto saxophone, serial number 158528. The alto dates back to 1925 and is in stunning condition. It was recently polished up and mechanically restored in the Saxquest shop by Hunter Murray. The work included a complete disassemble, cleaning, polishing and precise key fitting. It now is in perfect playing condition sporting a ultra clean look along with a brand new set of premium leather Valentino pads and metal domed resonators. Like all Chu altos this saxophone has rolled tone hole construction, finger nail file G#, auxiliary trill G# key, pearl touch front F key and micro tuner neck. This particular alto features a beautiful centerpiece engraving on the bell of a country road, trees and fence line which all sit above the Conn circular crest.
This is easily one of the most exceptional examples of a gold plated Chu we have had in the shop. It most likely had some play time in its day but then spent most of its life in its case. The original gold plate is in outstanding condition overall. Aside from some standard light scratches and blemishes there is no major wear of note. There is no history of major body work and the saxophone has received zero re-solder in the past. The original key pearls and pearl rollers are also all intact. This alto is with the original neck. The neck is in great shape and was never pulled down. Its Conn micro tuner is fully functioning.
As a player the New Wonder II has a world class sound and a ultra fast free blowing response to air flow. The warm and powerful character of this saxophone is also further enriched thanks to the gold  finish. If you are looking for a knock out player from the pre- 1930's period of American vintage saxophones you are going to be hard pressed to find a better example. This saxophone ships out in perfect playing condition and is with a vintage Conn wood box case. If you are planning on using this saxophone on the go we highly encourage you to add a Protec XL case to the purchase.
